Suzuki Garphyttan is committed to sourcing wire rod from companies that share our values around human rights, ethics and environmental responsibility.
In August of 2012, the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued the final conflict mineral rule under section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (the Conflict Mineral Rule). The Conflict Mineral Rule requires all U.S publicly traded companies to report annually the related use of conflict minerals ( Tin,tungsten, tantalum and gold) in their products. This is to prevent using minerals from conflict areas like Democratic Republic of Congo and adjoining countries, where the mining and trading of these minerals are being used to found armed conflicts and deteriorate human rights.
Suzuki Garphyttan acknowledges the obligations in the Conflict Mineral Rule and commits to responsible sourcing of wire rod. Suzuki Garphyttan declares that the wire products concerned with above mentioned regulation are sourced from suppliers following the Conflict Mineral Rule and by that no minerals from conflict areas are used. To assure compliance from our suppliers of wire rod, Suzuki Garphyttan utilizes the Conflict Mineral Reporting Template (CMRT) from the Conflict-Free Sourcing lnitiative (CFSI) which is updated every year.
