In 2017, Suzuki Garphyttan officially opened its new production facility in San José Iturbide, Mexico. The investment strengthened the company's presence in North America, bringing production closer to customers, as the automotive industry in the region continued to grow.
The years that followed brought rapid change. Electrification, new technologies, new sustainability expectations, shifting global supply chains and geopolitical uncertainty reshaped both the automotive industry and the markets Suzuki Garphyttan served.
The transition from internal combustion engines to new powertrain technologies began to reshape the market. Suzuki Garphyttan continued to develop products for both traditional and new applications, supporting customers through the industry's ongoing transformation.
The period also brought changes to the site in Garphyttan. In 2020, the spring shop in Garphyttan was permanently closed. Four years later, in 2024, production of cold-drawn spring wire resumed in Garphyttan after an absence of more than forty years.
The journey now continues
In 2026, Suzuki Garphyttan celebrates 120 years as a company.
The automotive industry remains an important market, but the company also continued to expand into new industries and applications, building on its expertise in advanced spring wire to support long-term growth.
From a small wire factory beside the Garphytteån to a global company with operations across three continents, much has changed since 1906. New products have been developed, markets have changed, and the company has grown far beyond Garphyttan.
What comes next is not yet part of our history. The journey continues and the next chapter is still to be written.
