Supporting youth and education
In Örebro, Sweden, we collaborate with Tegelbruket, a meeting place for young people aged 16–25. The initiative supports youths in their transition to working life by offering job training, internships, and pathways to future employment with Suzuki Garphyttan.
We also participate in Tekniksprånget, a Swedish program that gives high school graduates the chance to explore careers in technology and engineering. Through internships, students gain hands-on industry experience and learn from our professionals.
As part of Teknikcollege, a collaboration between schools, municipalities, and companies, we actively work to increase interest in technology. We visit secondary schools to share insights about career opportunities in the industrial and engineering sectors, inspiring young talent to join our industry in the future.
Practical experience and inclusion
We regularly offer internships, summer jobs, and thesis projects to students across all our global locations. One example is Introduce a Girl to Engineering (IGE), where we hosted 17 girls aged 13–19 at our Swedish site. The initiative encourages more young women to explore engineering careers by meeting role models and learning about real-world applications in the steel industry.
Promoting safety and sustainability education
We believe that early education plays a key role in building a sustainable future. That’s why we support initiatives such as the Traffic Calendar, which teaches children about road and traffic safety in engaging ways. We also back environmental education projects that connect children with nature and sustainability, fostering awareness and responsibility for future generations.
Supporting children’s health and well-being
Children’s health is close to our hearts. We support local sports associations, helping young people access physical activity and team sports. Another initiative we are proud of is our recycling collection of bottles and cans, with all proceeds donated directly to youth and children’s organizations in our local communities.
